“Every human being wants to find out and understand all the ways of God in the world, but he cannot, because he is not God.
And yet the faithful do not despair but cling to God, who deserves their trust; they can leave it to him to make sense of it all, while they seek to learn what it means to ‘fear God and keep his commandments,’ even when they cannot see what God is doing. This is true wisdom. “
“It is the lack of the knowledge of GOD’S HOLINESS that causes man today to think so little of his sin before GOD.”
No matter who or what we are, God restores us to right standing with Himself only by means of the death of Jesus Christ. God does this, not because Jesus pleads with Him to do so but because He died. It cannot be earned, just accepted. All the pleading for salvation which deliberately ignores the Cross of Christ is useless. It is knocking at a door other than the one which Jesus has already opened. We protest by saying, “But I don’t want to come that way. It is too humiliating to be received as a sinner.” God’s response, through Peter, is, “… there is no other name … by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
“I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died” (Romans 7:9). The moment we realize this, the Spirit of God convicts us of sin. Until a person gets there and sees that there is no hope, the Cross of Christ remains absurd to him. Conviction of sin always brings a fearful, confining sense of the law. It makes a person hopeless— “… sold under sin” (Romans 7:14)…. There is only one way by which I can get right with God, and that is through the death of Jesus Christ.

“The pursuit of pleasure in God is not a compromise with the sensual world but is in fact the only power that can defeat the lusts of the age while producing lovers of God.”
Was just wrestling this morning with the need/desire to pray- because of all the things going on and burdening my heart these days.
Couldn’t start on my projects for work because the severs were down so I played with my phone while I waited for help.
Opened up utmost for his highest on my phone and bam. I am rebuked…(I’m always amazed with all the different ways that God speaks through.)
“Prayer does not equip us for greater works— prayer is the greater work.”
“Yet we think of prayer as some commonsense exercise of our higher powers that simply prepares us for God’s work. In the teachings of Jesus Christ, prayer is the working of the miracle of redemption in me, which produces the miracle of redemption in others, through the power of God.”
Oh Lord God on high, forgive me for my foolishness in thinking that I have a righteousness of my own. Lord I need you to give me the strength to come before you and see prayer in this way.
“Remember my law, remember my law, remember my law. Why? Because when you remember my law and practice my law- you will see how great and beautiful and amazing I am. And how much I am for you. And how much I love you. And how much I am trying to lead you into how I designed things to work for the glory of My name and your ultimate joy.”
